10 Things To Do Before You Die

It’s an undeniable fact that you only live once (YOLO!) and that is exactly why you should live it to the fullest. To cap off a wonderful life, you must have a spectacular ending, but how? Don’t you fret, the folks here at Sinilog have got you covered! We gathered the top 10 things to do before you kick the bucket. From exploring the “awanggan” of the universe to partying in NYC, there’s something for everyone.

10. Achieve Education Goals

Starting off this Top 10 list is achieving education goals. What does achieving your education goals mean? Simply put, this is reaching your dreams under the context of education such as passing your dream college, graduating in your dream course, and acing all your scores. Some respondents answered that they would want to pass UPCAT before they die and some answered that they would want to graduate in an engineering course with the highest honors. Admirable dreams indeed!

9. Find Romantic Love

Who wouldn’t want to experience romantic love? Feeling infatuated with someone is a feeling that is hard to describe. You get all these butterflies in your stomach (what a cliche, we know) and every time you see that one person, it seems as if the world is slowing down. When that infatuation transforms into something else (hint: it starts with “romantic” and ends with “love”), everything just seems so much better. Hence, it came as no surprise that many of the respondents answered that they would want to meet their one true love before they die.

8. Do something illegal

While humans are mostly good at heart, nothing beats the thrill of doing the things you aren’t supposed to be doing. Good and bad may be relative but certain laws and taboos hold our society together and keep people in check. Breaking the law and avoiding getting caught can provide an adrenaline rush that makes people feel alive.

7. Express love to loved ones

Many people spend their last moments on their deathbed, surrounded by loving friends and family, and expressing their last farewells and wishes. While as much it is an innate desire for us to feel love, we also desire to let our loved ones feel our love for them. Before leaving this world, we want to leave with happy memories and with the certainty that our loved ones know how much we have loved them as well.

6. Experience True Happiness

Do you know what true happiness is? No? Neither do we. That’s probably why people want to experience it so much. The mystery of “true happiness” appeals to so many people. Whether it’s spending time with your loved ones or simply being content with your life, we still don’t know what true happiness is that’s why the constant search for true happiness is completely understandable. Somewhere deep in our hearts we know that we can never find it but even just the thought of feeling it for a fraction of a second is already amazing.

5. Be Apathetic

Of course, not everyone wants to do something grand or achieve greatness before they die. If you’re already dying, why tire yourself out? They answered that they would do “nothing” and honestly, that’s so relatable. Other people answered things about what they want to do before they die but will they actually get to do it? I don’t think so. That’s why doing nothing is the most reasonable and realistic answer. Just live your life as always. Don’t change anything else.

4. Spend time with loved ones

We occupy our lives by thinking or planning for the future or regretting the past, but have we ever simply thought about what’s important in the present? When was the last time you told your family or friends that you love them? We know for a fact that many of us can’t express these kind of feelings that easy. Despite this, there are still other ways to show your loved ones how much they mean to you. Even just spending a little time out of your busy days with someone you care already shows how much significant they are to your life. Don’t let the end come for your loved ones without showing them how much you treasure them.

3. Leave a legacy

We all hope that our life matters in some way, that’s why we study and work to become something great in the future. But is there one of your goals that would help the world become better? Or do you only live your life to survive? To leave a legacy means to be remembered for something that you’ve done, and it’s one of the life goals that would truly be fulfilling. One step would be figuring out what’s really important in your lives, that will touch everyone’s hearts. In other words, doing something good that enables future generations to enrich their lives, would serve as the best legacy to leave behind.

2. Go on an adventure

Of course, you’ve never truly lived if you haven’t gone out of your comfort zone, and what better way to do that than by going on an adventure! It could be as simple as visiting a new place in the city or as extravagant as going hiking with some friends. You’ll be surprised by how much you’ll enjoy it. Try new things! After all, adventure is out there.

1. Travel and see the world

It’s no doubt that somewhere in everyone’s bucket list, there’s something that says travel the world. At least once, you should travel somewhere and experience a different place. It doesn’t have to be literally around the globe, but just being able to see different cultures is one of life’s greatest goals. The world has so many sights to see, food to eat, and people to meet. So the next time you get a chance to travel, don’t let it pass. Take it!

So there you have it folks! We have given you the lowdown on what to accomplish before you bid farewell to this world. Remember, this list is not a one-size-fits-all list, go on and add as much to this as you please because you make the rules. Now that you know what to do, get off the sofa and turn off that computer or whatever device you’re on because there is so much more to life than just staying at home and playing video games. Go and make life your playground, the world is your oyster. Carpe Diem!
